An Uber Driver in Edmonton is headed back to court after a judge overturned a decision made by a city commissioner. Back in January 2015, according to a city employee posing as an Uber customer, the driver allegedly accepted $25 cash to drive to a local mall.
The city commissioner said there was no proof the $25 transaction took place and tossed out the case, however a higher-ranking judge has overturned that decision and the driver will face charges of operating a business without a license and operating a vehicle for hire without a taxi plate.
In what can only be described as "the most Canadian reaction to a drug-fuelled orgy" ever, a woman and her new husband rented out their AirBNB listing on New Year's Eve to a couple who apparently just wanted a place to do cocaine and bang. None of that made her upset though. What did it? Waking up in the morning to discover two extra people in her home.
The couple did make up for it though by leaving an epic apology letter and giving their hosts a 5-star rating.
It's been officially announced, Canada is turning over a "New Leaf" in the airline industry with the launch of FlyNewLeaf.ca, billed as "Canada's only ultra-low cost travel company". Exactly what does that mean? Basically, if you book a ticket on one of their flights, your fare gets you the seat and the seat belt. That's it.
Want to check a bag? That'll cost you. Want to bring a carry-on bag and put it in the overhead bin? That'll cost you. Can't print your boarding pass at home and need to do it at the airport? That'll cost you. Can't book on-line and need to call in to make your booking? That'll cost you.
The airline starts flying on February 12th and will be operating from Abbotsford, Kelowna, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Halifax.
And as promised, here's a photo of Jeff's Flight Sim set-up in his basement...
As for today's Passenger Shaming Story of the Day, here's a pro-tip for everyone traveling: don't get drunk, call flight attendants "fat & racist" while spitting at them and yell out "I HAVE A BOMB AND YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!"
