Even more disturbing than the attacks themselves is the reaction from Cologne's mayor (who's basically blaming the victims) and law enforcment who've yet to lay any charges in the incident - which some are interpreting as "political correctness gone mad" for fear of offending various ethnic groups.
On to more great news...
As usual, the Mirror.co.uk hits it out the park with yet another hard-hitting piece of journalism. The jist of the story? An 18 year-old single mom went partying for 2 days leaving her baby at home with Grandma. When the girl arrived home, she found the infant had been - basically - chewed to death. Both Mom & Grandma were arrested at the scene.
Possibly the most ridiculous part of The Mirror's story is this photo/caption combo:
It's like they're saying, "These aren't the actual rats but we've got to get our money's worth out of our Getty Images subscription, so fuck it...here's some rats."
Congratulations, China...you just invented the helicopter.
It's designed to fly at around 1500-1600 feet (but is capable of flight up to 11,000 feet) at speeds of upwards of 65mph for about 25 minutes on a single charge. It'll hold one person up to 220lbs with space for a small backpack. It's also equipped with air conditioning, so you'll be nice and cool as you plummet to the ground.
It's controlled using software on a Microsoft Surface Tablet by simply clicking "take off" and "land".
This thing has so much "no" it's not even funny. Luckily, it's highly unlikely we'll be seeing a lot of these in the sky (or in twisted heaps on the ground)...the pricetag is expected to be somewhere between $250,000 and $300,000...
THE OCULUS RIFT IS COMING...AND IT'S REASONABLY PRICED!!!
If you want to take your gaming experience to the next level, you NEED to have one of these things (at least that's what Jeff will be telling his wife). The Oculus Rift will be shipping out on March 28th & they've started taking pre-orders. The price? A mere $599...keeping in mind that you'll have to have a pretty high-end gaming PC in order to use it.
Discussions about the Oculus Rift leads to the guys chatting about the future of Virtual Reality technology and its application to other fields...including porn.
The cab company tried to skirt responsibility for the accident, essentially tossing the driver under the bus, by saying he was an "independent contractor". The courts didn't buy it and found the company to be responsible for their driver's actions.
